Strictly Cymru dancers go forth
Wales’ first fully inclusive dance event – Strictly Cymru – is set to hit Newport for a dance-off next week.
I really enjoyed taking part for the second year and am looking forward to dancing with my friends for the final. I love to dance.

This will be the fourth of six regional heats, as the competition for disabled dancers in Wales steps up ahead of the grand final in May.
Competitors will go head-to-head on 5 and 7 March, at Pill Millennium Centre in Newport.
The previous two regional heats have seen participants take on everything from fifties swing moves to hip hop.
Organised by the leading disability charity, Leonard Cheshire, Strictly Cymru invites disabled dancers from across the country to take part and show off their talent. The event is pan disability and aims to improve health, wellbeing and access to sport for disabled people across Wales.
This is the second year of Strictly Cymru, following the success of last year’s competition. Last year’s participants reported significant improvements in their well-being as a result of taking part, and many have opted to dance again this year.
Sarah Thornton, returning to take part in the regional heats earlier this year, said:
‘I really enjoyed taking part for the second year and am looking forward to dancing with my friends for the final. I love to dance.’
