Husna Mortuza, Head of Policy and Public Affairs
In response to new figures showing an increase in the amount of blue bagdes being stolen our Head of Policy and Public Affairs, Husna Mortuza, said:
‘Stealing blue badges is a shameful crime that causes a huge amount of distress.
‘Disabled residents will feel deeply let down that councils don’t seem to be addressing the soaring levels of these thefts.
‘The permits are vital for many disabled people to go out independently in their local communities, whether this is for leisure, shopping or learning opportunities.
‘All councils must stop the abuse of the scheme and work with police to make sure offenders are brought to account.’
